IRHALI (meaning thread) is a brand from my company Beautiful Enlightenment (BE) which is a fashion and textile design business. The name Beautiful Enlightenment comes from the founder?s names, Ziphozihle (beautiful Gifts), Afikile (Have come) and Nokhanyiso (to enlighten). Irhali provides exclusive designs in menswear, female fashion, home wear and private sewing lessons. Our vision is to MAKE CULTURE COOL. We have seen with the rise of modern culture young people don't view culture and its dress as something they can do. So we as Irhali want to bring culture to the people in a way that they understand. We do Fashion design, make home accessories such as bedding, cushions, curtains, etc, create accessories like hats and bags, vintage wear upcycling , as well as providing private sewing lessons. We have worked in different projects such as the Colour Blind Exhibition: a fashion exhibition held in Port Elizabeth in 2016, Beautiful Enlightenment and two other entrepreneurs organised and exhibited at this exhibition. Furthermore, we participated in the Komani Arts Exhibition (KAE): BE collaborated with one of Queenstonwn?s media entrepreneurs in 2018 and brought an arts exhibition with Fine Art, Fashion, Textiles, Photography, Music and food. Also, we participated in BE KOMONEY FASHION SHOW: In 2019 BE and a local brand organised the first fashion show to be held in a shopping centre in Komani. The second annual show was held in December 2020. There was Berlin November fashion show in 2019 where I showcased a collection. Lastly but not the least, sewing lessons are customized for every learner and what they would like to learn in sewing. We provide pattern making, clothing design, cutting fabric, alterations, repairs, upcycling and accessories design.
